Job title: CQC/Ofsted Supported Living Service Deputy Manager Job Type: Full time Company: Cedar Hope Care Services Ltd Salary scale: £30,000 - £35,000 (Dependent on experience) Reporting into: Registered Manager Location: Reading Role description: Cedar Hope Care Services Ltd is a Reading based company registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Ofsted. We are looking for an experienced candidate to assist the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operations of the services, maintaining the highest standards of care and to provide leadership to the seniors and a team of staff. The candidate will be required to provide support to Service Users within Cedar Hope Care Limited, in line with the Organisations aim to provide high quality support tailored to suit each of our service users, follow individual support plans or PCPs and to promote independence and choice. If you are looking to take your career to the next level, this could be the perfect role for you. Duties will include: To maintain an excellent timekeeping and attendance record. To follow sickness and absence procedures which are found in the homes policy and procedures To follow instructions given by the registered manager first, or in their absence nominated individual. To report any criminal offences / or convictions to the registered manager first, or in their absence nominated individual. Take action accordingly. To report to the registered manager (or nominated individual in their absence) any witnessed or suspected act of abuse promptly. Take action accordingly. To undertake training as required for the position. To participate in training, development and refresher courses of which you will be notified in good time To attend and participate in performance reviews, supervisions and appraisals. To provide leadership in the absence of the registered manager. To assist the registered manager with the running of the service when required to do so. To undertake all reasonable tasks and duties requested by members of the management team. To develop good relationships with all staff and service users, favouring no one. To develop an in-depth knowledge of service users and their care plans. To communicate in a professional manner at all times. Be clear with instructions and direct staff and service users in a manner they understand. To nurture and motivate a committed staff team. To understand that all service users, staff and company information, records, etc are confidential and should not be discussed or shared with or in front of service users, colleagues or others except in professional meetings where such matters are the subject of the discussions. To communicate with service users families, friends, agencies in a professional manner. Staff Team To oversee and support seniors with rota completion at least 4 weeks in advance. To provide direction and leadership for the staff team, completing shift planner and allocating staff to service users and tasks. To ensure each member of staff develops a positive, supportive relationship with the service users in their care and is mindful of their individual needs, not only on grounds of their age but also bearing in mind their gender, cultural background and personal interest. To ensure each member of staff recognises when it is appropriate to seek assistance from a more experienced senior member of staff and feels secure enough within the team to do so. Following an incident, to ensure debriefs are completed with both service user and staff involved. To ensure staff receive a return-to-work interview upon their return to work after sickness or unauthorised absence.Assisting with training seniors and buddies to complete return to works. Person specification: Minimum requirement - Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care To have completed or working towards completion of Level 5 Leadership and Management is desirable but not essential Satisfactory clearance of an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS check) Proof of right to work in the UK Good English language skills(written and verbal) Ability to travel effectively to different locations, driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred but not essential Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential This is not an exhaustive list of duties, the job holder may be required to undertake such other duties as Management may from time to time as reasonably require.
