GENERAL MANAGER | JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Director of Operations| Location: Restaurant (Thousand Oaks)

FLSA Status: Exempt | Salary Range $80,000-$90,000



ABOUT THE ROLE: Driven by our values and an innate understanding of our culture, the General Manager's primary responsibility is to provide our guests with an exceptional and memorable dining experience that exceeds their expectations. This is accomplished through the general manager's leadership and influence, in the daily execution of our mission statement in shift management and through the ongoing development of our team. Equally important and intertwined is the overseeing of the planning, organizing, training, and development of each individual manager, as well as the achievement of stated objectives in culinary excellence, finance, safety, quality, and the cultural environment of the restaurant.

  • Executes the vision and clearly communicates the company's direction and our unity of purpose in our guest obsession and unwavering passion for high quality food.
  • Leads enthusiastically and skillfully; understands and embraces their role as a team player and partner with managers, kitchen, and front of the house team members, working together to achieve common goals.
  • Supports and leads the team in achieving stated and planned budget objectives in sales, food cost, labor cost and operating expenses.
  • Attracts top talent to the restaurant and is a dynamic leader. Ensures restaurant is appropriately staffed with a well-trained team that includes managers, shift captains, kitchen team members, front of the house team members, and caterers. Creates a succession planning pipeline of the next generation of leaders. Partners with People & Culture to ensure success.
  • Coaches and leads the team through proper adherence to policies and company standards, including the Points of Service; leads by example, demonstrates through actions.
  • Implements all company roll outs completely, meeting or exceeding outlined standards.
  • Maintains a balanced manager schedule for optimum operations. Presence on weekends and nights must be part of the normal rotation.
  • Exudes confidence and an unrelenting passion for guest service. Touches tables and engages with guests to ensure their expectations are exceeded. Builds relationships with guests in restaurants, catered events, and within the community.
  • Fully understands and ensures all federal, state and local legal standards that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements are met.
  • Avidly adheres and hold the team accountable to all Health Department and sanitation standards.
  • Keeps restaurant in clean, comfortable, and inviting state.
  • Maintains a secure and safe environment for the team and guests.
  • Ensures all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to our recipes, portioning, and serving standards. Communicates on a high level regarding any inconsistencies or product, system, method, or result. Drives quality at every opportunity.
  • Partners with the kitchen managers to ensure kitchen systems are adhered to, including but not limited to: Production Book, Production Board, Efficiencies and Cooling Chart.
  • Is an expert manager of catering services and systems; plans and executes successful Stonefire catering events.
  • Orchestrates a well-planned manager meeting each week and regular one on ones with each management team member.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the operations leaders; performs all administrative duties accurately and in a timely manner.


LEADERSHIP & CULTURE

  • Manages restaurant team consisting of Managers, Kitchen and FOH Team Members, and Caterers.
  • Partners with People & Culture (HR) Department to attract, develop and retain the right people in order to support the strategic priorities of Stonefire Grill and the marketplace.
  • Coaches, trains, and mentors team members; utilizes creative training tools for business development, loyalty, and upselling. Provides career pathing discussions and opportunities for members of the team to facilitate growth and succession within the restaurant.
  • Demonstrates integrity and commitment in the work environment to the Company's Mission, Vision and Values; Keeps a cultural pulse on restaurant teams, serving as both a role model and trusted partner throughout the company.
  • Effectively operates independently with minimal direction; demonstrates exceptional problem-solving ability and leadership.




ABOUT YOU

  • 5+ years in a high-volume restaurant – Fast Casual and Catering preferred, but not required.
  • Passionate, fun, positive and results-oriented.
  • Attentive and available to guests and the team.
  • Open to coaching and development, values critical to the Company and its success.
  • Strong organizational leadership and exceptional communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and driven by accomplishment.
  • Available weekends and evenings.
  • Lover of people, food and service, and the magic that exists in their confluence.





Compensation details: 80000-90000 Yearly Salary
