Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Thrapston, Northampton,UK Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Thrapston Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only Salary: £21,000 - £23,000 per annum, depending on experience Start date: February 2025 About The School: The school is a forward-thinking provider of education and care for children, young people, and adults with special educational needs and disabilities. They are excited to announce a brand-new educational provision in Northampton designed to support up to 80 pupils aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will start in February 2025. The SEN school offer a creative and personalized curriculum tailored to each pupil's needs, providing them with the best opportunities to succeed. The school has been redeveloped with state-of-the-art facilities and is designed to be a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every student can thrive. The school are currently looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our students. The Role: As a Teaching Assistant at this SEN school, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students with their learning and overall well-being, ensuring every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide support to children with their educational and personal development needs, fostering a warm and caring relationship to help them feel safe and engaged in their learning. Assist with care needs and positive behaviour management, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each child. Encourage independence and personal growth in pupils while maintaining high expectations for behaviour. Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities that help pupils achieve their full potential across all areas of learning. Be flexible and ready to assist with various tasks as needed in this dynamic SEN environment. Candidate Profile: Successful candidates will likely demonstrate: Experience working with children with SEN, either in a paid or voluntary capacity. A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle (desirable). GCSEs in Maths and English at Level 3 or above (essential). A recognized qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools, or an equivalent (desirable). A strong understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures. The ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment. A positive and creative approach to meeting the individual needs of pupils. A commitment to putting the child first and treating each pupil as an individual.
