Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Newcastle NE3 Position Type: Full time and part time Shift pattern: 8:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday (negotiable) Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. The Teaching Assistant (TA) will work closely with professors and other educational staff to support student learning and classroom activities. Key Responsibilities: Assist the lead instructor in preparing course materials and lesson plans. Support students in understanding course content through one-on-one or group tutoring sessions. Grade assignments, exams, and other student work, providing constructive feedback. Facilitate classroom activities and discussions, ensuring an engaging and inclusive environment. Manage and track student attendance and participation. Provide assistance during laboratory sessions, projects, or practical work. Assist with administrative tasks such as organizing course materials, tracking grades, and handling student inquiries. Maintain communication with the instructor regarding student progress, needs, and challenges. Support the creation and execution of course assessments, quizzes, and other academic evaluations. Qualifications: Current enrollment in or recent completion of [relevant degree or program, e.g., undergraduate/graduate degree in Education, Science, Mathematics, etc.]. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently. Previous tutoring or teaching experience is a plus. Proficiency in [specific software/tools related to the course, e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, educational platforms]. Passion for education and a commitment to helping students succeed. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role. Familiarity with the subject matter of the course being taught.
