We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 class in a welcoming primary school located in the Leeds area. This is a full-time role, running Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. This primary school is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their best. The school focuses on nurturing creativity, curiosity, and resilience, ensuring students thrive academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored classroom support to help pupils stay engaged and achieve their learning objectives. Assist with the preparation and organisation of lesson materials and resources. Work with small groups or individual pupils, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects. Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN and behavioural challenges, fostering their confidence and independence. Contribute to the creation of a positive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes inclusivity and respect. Help monitor pupil progress, offering feedback to the teacher and assisting in the development of learning plans. Supervise and engage with pupils during breaks, transitions, and other non-classroom activities. Requirements: Proficient knowledge of the national Key Stage Curriculum. Familiarity with diverse teaching approaches suitable for SEN children. Solid comprehension of child development and the learning process. Exhibit effective listening and verbal communication skills. A commitment to building positive children relationships and addressing their requirements. Capable of offering individualised attention, encouragement, and learning support. Possess an Enhanced DBS check or willing to obtain one through Randstad. Eligibility to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
