Junior Researcher Building Materials

As a Junior Researcher, you will join the Advanced Composite Technologies Unit (COMPTech): Execute R&D&I projects related to sustainable cements, mortars and concretes, carrying out formulation, dosage and characterisation tests. Define, execute and interpret characterisation tests (mechanical, physico-chemical and rheological) of construction materials (cements, geopolymers), within R&D projects. Coordinate and adequately manage the execution times and priorities of the tests with the R&D project managers. Perform information search, state of the art / bibliography related to the characterisation and development of construction materials formulations. Contact with equipment and material suppliers for technical queries. Participation in external and internal project meetings, participation in congresses and seminars etc. Education: Degree in Chemistry or Physics. Degree in Materials Engineering. Related technical degrees with content in Materials. Job specific skills: Training in construction materials (cements, concretes and sustainable cements). Knowledge of characterisation techniques (mechanical testing, physical and chemical characterisation). English: intermediate level (spoken and written). Office: intermediate level (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Driving licence and own vehicle. Desirable qualifications and skills: Knowledge in additive manufacturing with construction materials. Knowledge of plastic materials (thermoplastics and thermosets), manufacturing processes and characterisation techniques.
