Job Description

IPS are working alongside a leading (Re)insurer in their search for an ambitious Catastrophe Analyst to join the business, acting as a key figure to help guide the development of their new internal R&D function. As an exciting area for target growth for the business, you will be working closely with Senior management to lead tailored project work covering multiple regions and perils across both natural and non-natural classes of business. Working on exciting projects including model validation, evaluation, and process improvements, as well as the chance to lead on scenario development to help guide view of risk in line with future growth plans. You will have significant exposure and interaction with internal and external stakeholders, making this a unique opportunity to ‘stamp your own mark’ on a new business unit with full support and guidance from highly regarded managers and leaders within our market. You will also have the chance to act as mentor overseeing the training and development of junior colleagues, with scope for managerial responsibilities to increase as this role and unit develops. Joining a driven, collaborative, and close-knit analytics team, this an exciting opportunity for ambitious professionals who are eager to develop and apply their knowledge and technical skillset in catastrophe analytics. To be considered for this position: Demonstrable experience using a recognised vendor model (RMS preferred but not a requisite) Technical proficiency using coding and programming languages (such as SQL, R, Python and Power BI) is beneficial. Confident communicator able to effectively translate analytics for both technical and non-technical audiences.
