Job Description

Role: Programme Manager Max rate: 391/Day (Inside iR35)(via Umbrella) Duration: until December 31st Location: Northampton, hybrid, 2 days from office Job description: Client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Programme Manager with extensive experience in regulatory change within the financial services industry. This role will oversee a dynamic portfolio of regulatory change projects and initiatives across multiple global locations. You will lead a talented team driving major regulatory programmes within Client. Your role will involve strategic leadership and hands-on management of multi-year programmes, as well as overseeing smaller, high-priority projects. This is a senior leadership position that requires not only the ability to manage complex regulatory projects but also to motivate, guide, and mentor an experienced team. Key Accountabilities: Programme Leadership: Lead a portfolio of regulatory-driven change initiatives, including major programmes (e.g. MiFID, GDPR, LIBOR, Section 166, and remediation efforts). Oversee a global team of experienced project managers, ensuring their engagement and development. Determine which projects require priority attention and resource allocation within the portfolio. Compliance Focus: Liaise closely with Compliance and senior stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of regulatory commitments. Change Management: Provide guidance on change processes, understanding all roles in the delivery cycle, and ensuring successful outcomes for compliance-driven projects. Collaborate with leaders across the bank, ensuring alignment between regulatory initiatives and business objectives. Key Skills: Proven track record in leading multi-year, multi-division programmes with hands-on experience in regulatory projects across global teams. Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management practices. Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and manage a high-performing team in a virtual setting. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively balance strategic oversight with day-to-day delivery management. Strong line management experience, proactive and hands-on leadership style, capable of making key decisions regarding programme delivery and resource allocation.
