Job Description

We seek a talented Risk Officer for a premier Commodities business. Position Overview: As a Risk Officer you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the firm's financial stability and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position offers a stimulating environment where you will collaborate closely with traders, risk managers, and other key stakeholders to manage and mitigate risks effectively. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify, measure, and monitor risks associated with trading activities. Develop and implement risk management strategies and controls to mitigate market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks. Analyze market trends, economic indicators, and trading strategies to anticipate and respond to potential risks and opportunities. Evaluate the adequacy of existing risk policies and procedures, recommending enhancements as necessary to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Monitor trading positions and exposures, ensuring compliance with risk limits and guidelines established by senior management and regulatory authorities. Collaborate with traders and portfolio managers to assess the risk-return profile of trading strategies and optimize portfolio performance. Prepare and present risk reports and insights to senior management and relevant committees, highlighting key risk exposures and emerging trends. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) preferred. Previous experience in risk management within a fixed income trading environment, with a strong understanding of financial markets, products, and risk metrics. Proficiency in quantitative analysis and risk modeling techniques, including VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing fixed income trading activities (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, Basel III). Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
