KS1 ASD Teacher Job Type: Full-time Location: Croydon Salary: Competitive We are supporting a specialist primary school in seeking a dedicated KS1 Teacher to join their team, working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will have experience or exposure to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) school environments. This role requires a qualified teacher who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. Day-to-day of the role: Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to students with ASD, incorporating strategies suitable for SLD and MLD. Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages student engagement. Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs. Assess students’ progress and adapt lessons accordingly to ensure effective learning outcomes. Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and professionals to support individual student needs. Participate in school meetings and training sessions to enhance teaching practices and contribute to the school community. Required Skills & Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education). Proven experience or exposure to SLD and MLD environments. Strong understanding of the educational needs of students with ASD. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan and organise effectively, ensuring all students can thrive.
