Job Description

Hodge Jones & Allen Leading London NW1 Solicitors Housing Paralegal We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our successful, friendly and professional team. The role will initially be to assist fee earners within the Housing team, who specialise in all areas of housing law, and particularly disrepair, homelessness, possession cases and judicial reviews. The successful candidate will require previous legal experience, as well as some knowledge of legal aid funding in the context of housing law. The role will involve building up a caseload, drafting statements, meeting clients to take statements, preparing routine letters, gathering evidence and advising vulnerable clients. A commitment to upholding the rights of individuals, challenging state bodies and working in the legal aid sector is desirable. An ability to work to deadlines, drafting documents and good client care skills are essential. In addition, you should also have excellent communication and written skills, be a good team player and be able to work well under pressure. We are recognised as one of the highest-ranking law firms for housing and tenant law in the UK, and are ranked Band 1 in Chambers UK Legal Guide and listed Tier 1 in the Legal 500 for social housing law. Operating from a central London premises, HJA has a national reputation and will provide a varied and challenging workload.
