Job Description
SQL Developer Expected Start Date : May 2025 Description: As a SQL Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development and modernization of enterprise systems for one of our public sector clients. This role focuses on leveraging modern technologies to transition legacy systems to a scalable, secure, and high-performing architecture. If you have expertise in SQL development, database management, and enterprise integration, and thrive in dynamic, large-scale environments, this role is perfect for you Responsibilities: Develop and maintain high-quality SQL code for complex software solutions in a public sector project. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for the modernization of a legacy application. Design, implement, and optimize database solutions that align with public sector standards and regulations. Ensure solutions are aligned with business goals, technical requirements, and compliance standards. Integrate various systems and technologies, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly those relevant to the public sector. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to public services. Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of database solutions, with a focus on protecting sensitive public sector data. Minimum Qualifications: Proven experience as a SQL Developer or similar role, preferably in the public sector. Extensive experience with the Microsoft technology stack, including: Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or later Transact-SQL (T-SQL) SQL programming, stored procedures, SQL views, and SQL functions Experience with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure, including: Azure SQL Database Azure DevOps Data migration and ETL processes Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and optimization techniques. Experience with data security and encryption practices, especially in the context of public sector applications. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with other database platforms and technologies. Knowledge of additional programming languages and frameworks. Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate). Previous experience with legacy application modernization projects in the public sector.
