Job Description
Business Systems Analyst Expected Start Date: May 2025 As the Business Systems Analyst, you will work closely with one of Brooksource’s public sector clients. You will play a key role in gathering requirements, analyzing business needs, and supporting system modernization efforts. If you're detail-oriented and enjoy collaborating with both technical teams and stakeholders, this position may be for you Responsibilities Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and project managers to gather, document, and analyze system requirements. Evaluate and model current business processes and identify areas for improvement to support modernization efforts. Develop and maintain documentation such as requirements specifications, workflows, and use cases. Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives and deliverables. Conduct gap analyses to identify and address discrepancies between business needs and system capabilities. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure system changes meet requirements and address business needs. Provide post-implementation support and assist in the transition from legacy systems to modernized solutions. Analyze and validate data migration processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of transferred data. Assist in ensuring the system meets security, performance, and compliance requirements. Support API integrations and interfaces with external systems as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the modernization project. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in business systems analysis or related roles. Strong understanding of Agile development concepts and methodologies. Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication. Familiarity with modern software development and cloud-based platforms. Knowledge of API development and integration best practices. Experience analyzing and supporting large-scale system modernization efforts. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with government or public sector modernization projects. Familiarity with enterprise-level systems and large-scale data migration. Understanding of cloud-based platforms and architecture. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
