Contract Opportunity: Infrastructure Technical Designer (Inside IR35) - 6-month contract Leading UK Bank | 460 per day | Remote (might be occasional onsite workshops) Immediate 6-month contract for an Infrastructure Technical Designer to help deliver innovative, flexible, and reliable technology infrastructure solutions. What You'll Be Doing As an Infrastructure Technical Designer, you'll be at the heart of their technology infrastructure projects, contributing to: Crafting high-level and detailed infrastructure designs. Evaluating and assessing infrastructure costs for agreed solutions. Developing adoption roadmaps, reusable design patterns, and standard operating environments. Creating operational models for new technologies. Ensuring design governance for reliability, quality, and adherence to architectural strategies. Providing consultancy during project estimation, including cost, design, and impact analysis. Your background You will be an experienced Infrastructure Technical Designer with strong expertise in VMWare who can thrive in a multi-disciplined environment, bringing: Knowledge to support design and architectural governance, with experience in: o Operating Systems: Windows Server, Red Hat Linux o Services: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory o Database: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle o Messaging/Collaboration: Exchange, MS Teams, SharePoint o Virtualisation: VMWare ESXi o Desktop: Windows o Cloud: Azure knowledge Strong skills in financial cost estimation for projects. Excellent communication abilities for engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of translating ideas into actionable IT designs. A commitment to continuous improvement within organisational capabilities. Bonus Points Extensive design experience, especially within financial services. Experience influencing at senior levels, backed by business/IT education. Familiarity with both agile and traditional waterfall delivery environments.
