Traveling Fiber Technician

TDS seeks a Fiber Specialist to join our Data Center Solutions team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 1 to 3 years of Low-Voltage Cabling experience. Candidates must be hands-on and willing to travel. We have openings in Northern Virginia, Dallas, Phoenix, Chicago, Atlanta and Memphis.ResponsibilitiesInstall Fiber cable in accordance with industry standards and customer specifications.Understand and be able to follow fiber trunk pull diagrams.Troubleshoot faulty fiber optic cable.Be proficient in utilizing various testing methods and equipment such as VFL, Power Meter and OTDR.Install and maintain network-related hardware.Fiber splicing experience a plus.QualificationsCandidates must be collaborative team players who are willing to roll up their sleeves and be hands-on while installing cabling and equipment but also possess excellent client-facing, communication, project documentation, organizational, follow-up and Microsoft Office skills - particularly Excel, for the project management aspect of this position.Must be able to travel to multiple job sites around the USTraining and certifications are encouraged and fully reimbursed to help foster individual career development and enhance the knowledge base of our team.We are looking for an enthusiastic, Fiber Technician who has strong communications skills and an excellent work ethic and desire to learn and grow.Compensation details: 25-45 Hourly WagePIde51a994900f-25660-36390185
