Saarthee - Anaplan Consultant - Financial Planning & Analysis

Position : Anaplan Consultant. Locations : Bengaluru. Experience : 5-7 years. Work Mode : Hybrid. Position Summary : We are seeking a skilled Anaplan Consultant with 5-7 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering business requirements, building and optimizing Anaplan models, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality financial solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, particularly finance teams, to design and implement Anaplan models that meet business objectives. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a Centre of Excellence (CoE), ensuring best practices are applied and maximizing the utilization of Anaplan across the organization. Job Overview : Requirements Definition : - Collaborate with business analysts and senior finance stakeholders to gather and interpret financial planning requirements. - Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, user stories, or models. - Understand data requirements, calculation logic, and translate them into actionable model designs. - Work with solution architects and technical teams to design end-to-end Anaplan solutions, ensuring scalability and long-term sustainability. Model Building : - Design and build Anaplan models, including lists, modules, actions, UX pages, dashboards, and reporting tools. - Enhance and optimize existing models to ensure they align with evolving business needs. - Develop data integration solutions, including inbound and outbound data feeds for seamless data exchange with other systems. - Conduct unit testing, system testing, and performance testing to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the models. - Provide support during user acceptance testing (UAT), assist with data migration and model deployment. Proof of Concept (PoC) Models : - Design and implement PoC models efficiently, expanding them into detailed, scalable solution designs based on success. - Conduct regular reviews of model performance and make recommendations for optimizations. Collaboration & Centre of Excellence (CoE) : - Contribute to the creation and growth of an Anaplan Centre of Excellence (CoE), focusing on best practices and process standardization. - Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Anaplan, providing guidance and support to colleagues. - Train, coach, and share knowledge with business users and peers to enhance Anaplan adoption and usage. - Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and streamlining workflows. Client-Facing & Communication : - Present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely. - Engage with clients and internal teams to ensure the delivered models meet business objectives and expectations. - Serve as a trusted point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and satisfaction. Data Analysis & Financial Modeling : - Use strong analytical skills to interpret complex business data and build financial models that provide valuable insights. - Build multi-dimensional models supporting financial planning, reporting, and forecasting requirements. - Develop data-driven analytical solutions for decision support, forecasting, trend analysis, and performance monitoring. Platform and Performance Optimization : - Review and improve model performance, UI/UX, and scalability to ensure Anaplan models meet business needs effectively. - Apply best practices in model development and make recommendations to improve system efficiency and usability. Continuous Learning & Improvement : - Stay up-to-date with new Anaplan features, industry trends, and best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve model functionality and operations. - Contribute to sprint planning and ensure alignment of technical and business objectives. Required Skills and Qualifications : - 5-7 years of experience with Anaplan model building, particularly in FP&A. - Anaplan MB Level 3 or higher certification, with demonstrable experience in building complex models. - Experience in multi-dimensional data modeling, financial forecasting, and reporting. - Strong proficiency in Agile methodologies and sprint planning. - Familiarity with BI platforms such as PowerBI and Tableau. - Ability to perform technical platform critical assessments and recommend optimization solutions. - Proven track record in data integration, financial planning tools, and system enhancements. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. - Excellent communication and client-facing skills. - Ability to accelerate medium-sized initiatives aimed at improving front-end UX and platform performance. - Reviews solutions for best practices and provides recommendations on making models more efficient. - Ability to work as part of a team to ensure effective performance of financial planning solutions and integration with adjacent domains/technologies. - Experience with sprint planning, collaborating with peer teams and technology leads. - Experience in gathering and communicating technical outcomes to peers and stakeholders, validating results. - Ability to optimize value for the enterprise through functionality, operational efficiency, and extensibility of Anaplan solutions. - Ability to influence strategic vision and translate it into actionable plans and delivery outcomes. - Strong self-starter mentality, motivated to excel and committed to continuous learning and professional development. - Desire to work in a dynamic team environment with a collaborative, hands-on approach. Desirable Skills : - Experience with other financial planning tools such as SAP BPC, Oracle Hyperion, Workday Adaptive, or Cognos. - Experience with integration technologies such as Sterling Integrator or other middleware platforms. - Familiarity with S/4Hana financial modules and related data structures. - Prior experience working on Agile delivery processes and collaborating in cross-functional teams. Educational Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related fields.
