Manual Operator Grinding

Manual Grinder Location: Basildon Job Type: Full-time Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 We are seeking a skilled Manual Grinder with a keen eye for detail and a strong technical background. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating manual grinding machines, ensuring client orders are completed efficiently and to a high standard. An engineering qualification is desirable, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Day-to-day of the role: Setting up client jobs on grinding machines and conducting pre-operation tests. Manual operation of grinding machines, including adjustments to maintain tolerance levels. Performing general machine maintenance and keeping the work area clean and tidy. Adhering to strict health and safety regulations within the workplace. Completing necessary paperwork and recording data on production and quality logs. Operating CNC lathe as required. Undertaking any other duties as necessary within the scope of the role. Required Skills & Qualifications: An engineering qualification is desirable. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in setting and operating manual grinders. Proficiency in using measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers. Experience with CNC lathes is beneficial. Experience in the aerospace industry is an advantage. Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and specifications. Competent computer skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions. Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Personal Qualities: Mechanically and technically minded. Self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude. Working Conditions: Manual lifting and periods of prolonged standing are required. Wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
