SEND Support Assistant Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester Position: SEND Support Assistant Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive Rates Start Date: ASAP About the School: We are a thriving and inclusive Primary School in Oldham, dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for all students. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Support Assistant to join our team and help us support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The Role: As a SEND Support Assistant, you will be working closely with students who have a range of learning and developmental needs. Your responsibilities will include: Providing 1:1 and small group support to children with SEND, both inside and outside the classroom. Supporting the implementation of personalized learning plans and helping students engage in their education. Assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons that accommodate the needs of SEND students. Supporting the social and emotional development of students, ensuring their well-being and inclusion in school activities. Working collaboratively with teachers, other support staff, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for SEND students. Monitoring and recording students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is: Passionate about SEND and supporting children with diverse needs. Patient, empathetic, and understanding , with excellent communication skills. Experienced in supporting children with a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and Emotional and Behavioral Needs (desirable). Familiar with working with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and interventions. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Proactive and flexible , with a willingness to adapt to the needs of the students. Hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – desirable but not essential.
