I’m working with a small-to-medium-sized firm in Bristol that’s looking for a talented and motivated Principal Principal Engineer/Associate to join their dynamic team. Location: Central Bristol Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum Start Date: ASAP The Role This senior position offers a mix of technical leadership and business development responsibilities. You’ll be at the forefront of delivering innovative design solutions for residential and commercial projects while helping grow the consultancy’s client base. Working within a supportive team of engineers and technicians, you’ll mentor junior staff, review designs and reports, and tackle technical challenges. You’ll also manage client relationships, prepare fee proposals, and secure technical approvals. Key Responsibilities Leading designs for residential and commercial developments. Developing new client relationships and contributing to business growth. Negotiating technical approvals with Local Highway Authorities. Mentoring junior team members and ensuring high-quality project delivery. Preparing fee proposals and addressing client needs. Essential Skills Proficiency in S278 Highway Design/Access Design. Expertise in junction & roundabout design, highway alignment, and road sign/line design. Experience in pavement design and buildups. Responding to RSAs, S38 reviews, and RFIs. Strong client relationship and business development skills. Qualifications BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering.
