Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting young people facing emotional and social challenges? We are currently working with a specialist school seeking a highly dedicated and experienced Full-Time SEMH HLTA. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning experience for students facing a range of emotional and social challenges. The successful candidate will: Possess a strong understanding of de-escalation techniques and be able to manage challenging behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all. Have experience working with learners with SEMH needs, providing individual and small group support in a nurturing and trusting environment. Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement effective strategies in line with a learner's EHCP. Utilise a range of techniques to manage challenging behaviour, promote emotional regulation, and develop positive social skills. Be adept at delivering active learning strategies that engage and motivate students. Be adaptable and flexible to meet the diverse needs of learners, tailoring support to individual requirements. Be a team player and willing to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Maintain clear boundaries while fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere. Contribute to the development and implementation of a positive behaviour support system. Requirements : Experience working with children with SEMH needs in a school or other educational setting. A calm and patient demeanour, with a strong understanding of de-escalation techniques. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle to travel to the school.
