Job Description

Energis is recruiting for a Process Engineer to join our client, an innovative manufacturing business based in North Down. The successful Process Engineer will focus on improving efficiency, reducing waste and ensuring quality standards in a high-precision production environment. You will combine a strong technical background with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence. Applicants should ideally have experience in the plastics / polymers / extrusion industries or similar. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor lean manufacturing strategies to enhance productivity, minimise waste, and improve product quality Analyse production data and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process enhancements Collaborate with the maintenance and tooling teams to ensure optimal equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications as needed Work closely with the quality assurance team to maintain stringent tolerances and ensure compliance with industry and customer standards Train production teams on lean principles, methodologies, and best practices to sustain continuous improvement efforts Liaise with R&D, engineering, and production teams to support new product development and process validation Essential Criteria: Third level qualification (ideally degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Proven experience (2-3 years) in process engineering Expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process improvement tools Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive actionable solutions Excellent communication skills Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CAD, ERP systems, process simulation tools) Desirable criteria: Previous experience in the plastics, polymers, extrusion or related industries Certification in Lean or Six Sigma Salary is £36 38k depending upon experience.
