Senior Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our high-volume manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting the company's financial health. This role requires expertise in bookkeeping for a fast-paced, high-volume environment and strong familiarity with manufacturing industry practices. Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR Certified Bookkeeper or equivalent qualification Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment Proficiency in high-volume transaction processing Advanced proficiency with accounting software (Sage evolution and SAGE X3) Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) Familiarity with ERP systems in a manufacturing context. Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective communication and leadership skills Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and intercompany accounts monthly Processing payroll journals and loading payments Prepare and post journal entries to facilitate month-end and year-end close processes Generate financial statements and detailed reports for management Assist with audits, tax preparation, and compliance with state and federal regulations Ensure adherence to accounting standards (IFRS as applicable) Identify opportunities for streamlining financial processes and enhancing efficiency Implement best practices for financial control in a manufacturing environment Work closely with other departments, including operations, procurement, and sales, to support financial planning and decision-making Consultant: Vonne Scholtz - Dante Personnel Pretoria Silver Lakes
