Job Description
Our client is looking for a professional and experienced individual to join their team as Global Sales and Procurement FMCG. Based in Grand Baie, Mauritius, this role involves trading food products across various categories, including FMCG, commodities, frozen, dry goods, meat, chicken, and fish. The successful candidate will manage procurement, sales, and logistics to expand market presence and achieve business objectives. Responsibilities Product Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and establish relationships with international FMCG suppliers. Negotiate favorable terms and pricing to maintain competitive offerings. Monitor market trends and identify new products and emerging markets. Sales & Business Development: Develop and implement sales strategies for FMCG products in global markets. Identify and engage potential clients, distributors, and partners. Foster long-term relationships with key customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Represent the company at trade shows, meetings, and industry events. Market Analysis & Forecasting: Conduct research on customer preferences, competitor activities, and industry trends. Prepare reports on market conditions, opportunities, and competitor strategies. Forecast demand to maintain optimal inventory levels. Logistics & Export Coordination: Oversee the export process to ensure timely and compliant product delivery. Coordinate with shipping agents, customs authorities, and freight forwarders. Manage export documentation, including invoices, certificates of origin, and customs declarations. Financial Management: Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets for procurement and sales. Track profit margins to maintain competitiveness and profitability. Monitor payment terms, credit risks, and resolve financial disputes with stakeholders. Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure compliance with international food standards and regulations. Address customer complaints and resolve issues related to product quality or delivery. Key Skills Strong negotiation and communication abilities. In-depth understanding of export regulations, trade compliance, and supply chain logistics. Analytical mindset to assess market trends and adapt strategies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ERP system experience is a plus. Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. 35 years of experience in international trade, particularly in food products or commodities. Experience managing supply chains and working with freight forwarders. Valid drivers license and passport, with a willingness to travel internationally. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business, International Trade, or a related field (preferred).
