Job Description

Role overview: Plays a crucial role in overseeing employee welfare, compliance and HR processes. Ensures that the Company adheres to both company policies and legislation. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment and onboarding: Co-ordinate recruitment efforts including job postings, candidate screening, interviews and selection, conducting reference and pre-employment checks. Facilitate smooth onboarding for new recruits, ensure proper orientation and completion of on-boarding documentation Support the attainment of Employment Equity plan through targeted selection of under-represented, designated groups Co-ordinate all LDCs and follow up with relevant HOD regarding termination / contract extensions Employee Relations: Addresses employee queries, concerns and grievances promptly Assist in conflict resolution and maintain positive employee relations HR Administration: Manage accurate and up-to-date employee records Design forms as required Update organograms Administrate all claims related to employee benefits eg disability, death Co-ordinating Long service award certificates Drafting company newsletters, memos introducing new employees and other general information Take, type and distribute meeting minutes Payroll: Assist payroll as required, in ensuring accurate collection and collation of weekly timesheets to support accurate payroll management Support payroll with data collection, interrogation and verification Handle employee pay-related queries HRIS: Maintain accurate and up to date HR records using HRIS tools Generate reports as needed Policy Development and Compliance: Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures Ensure compliance with labour laws, employment equity and Main agreement Industrial Relations: Understand South African labour laws, regulations and the Main Agreement for the metals and engineering industry Handle disciplinary processes and grievances, including taking and typing of minutes. Support engagement with relevant stakeholders Assist in putting together case files for disputes Performance Management: Assist in performance appraisal process Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process enhancement within the HR function Stay updated on HR trends and best practices Functions and meetings: Assist with scheduling of meetings, training, members sessions / presentations with Pension / Provident fund or medical aid Assist with setting up venues for meetings and company functions Feel free to apply, should you meet all of the requirements.
