Job Title : Automation Tester - : 2 to 4 years Location : Bangalore, India Position Overview : We are looking for an experienced Automation Tester to join our team, specializing in Automotive/Telematics/Infotainment systems with expertise in Modem Testing and Cellular Protocols. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automation test scripts to ensure the reliability, performance, and functionality of the automotive infotainment system and related telematics features. The role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and test engineers, to deliver high-quality products for the automotive industry. Key Responsibilities : - Automation Test Development : Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts for infotainment systems, modem testing, and telematics applications. Utilize Python for scripting and automation tasks. - Testing Infotainment Systems : Perform comprehensive testing on infotainment systems (e.g., audio, video, navigation, and connectivity features), ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. - Modem & Network Testing : Conduct modem testing, including integration and functional testing of modem hardware, focusing on cellular technologies like GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G. Verify modem performance in real-world network conditions and validate features like connectivity, voice, and data transmission. - Cellular Protocol Testing : Conduct tests on cellular protocols (GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G) to validate features such as handovers, call setup, data transfer, and QoS (Quality of Service). Debug and analyze issues related to signaling, call flows, and data throughput. - Network Simulator Integration : Set up and configure Network Simulators (e.g., Anritsu, Rohde & Schwarz, Keysight) to simulate real-world network environments for testing purposes. Simulate and test different cellular network conditions to evaluate system performance and robustness. - Test Strategy & Planning : Collaborate with project teams to define test strategies and plans. Identify key areas of testing, including functional, regression, and performance testing, and document detailed test cases. - Defect Reporting and Debugging : Identify and document defects found during testing. Work with development teams to reproduce, analyze, and debug issues in order to implement effective fixes. - Test Environment Setup & Configuration : Set up and maintain test environments, including physical and virtual devices, network simulators, and testing platforms to support automation and manual testing. - Documentation & Reporting : Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test execution reports. Generate regular reports on test progress, defect status, and overall system quality. - Collaboration and Communication : Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., development, product, and QA teams) to ensure smooth communication and execution of test plans. Provide clear and concise status updates to stakeholders. - Continuous Improvement : Proactively identify areas for improvement in test automation, test processes, and testing tools. Contribute to enhancing test frameworks, automating repetitive tasks, and optimizing testing strategies. Mandatory Skills & Experience : - Automation Testing : Strong experience in developing and maintaining automation test scripts, particularly using Python. Familiarity with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium) is a plus. - Infotainment and Telematics Systems : Hands-on experience in testing automotive infotainment systems and telematics applications, including connectivity, multimedia, GPS, and wireless communication protocols. - Modem Testing : Proficient in testing modem hardware and software, with a focus on cellular network protocols like GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G. Experience with testing call flows, data throughput, and connectivity in cellular networks. - Cellular Protocols : Deep understanding of cellular protocols (e.g., GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G). Experience with signaling analysis, call flows, and network behavior in different cellular technologies. - Network Simulators : Experience in using network simulators like Anritsu, Rohde & Schwarz (R&S), and Keysight for testing modem and network performance. Ability to configure and control simulators for different network conditions (e.g., traffic simulation, interference, signal degradation). - Testing Tools & Techniques : Proficiency with tools for test automation, test management, and defect tracking (e.g., Jenkins, Jira, TestRail, Git). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems. - Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly document test cases, defects, and status reports. Good interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Desired Skills & Qualifications : - Experience with Embedded Systems : Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS) is a plus. - Knowledge of Automotive Standards : Understanding of automotive industry standards and protocols (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262) related to infotainment and telematics systems. - Performance Testing : Experience with performance and stress testing of cellular systems and network conditions. Familiarity with load testing and QoS metrics. - Linux/Unix Proficiency : Experience working in Linux/Unix environments for system testing and automation. - Agile Methodologies : Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Education & Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). - Relevant certifications in networking, automation testing, or telecommunications (e.g., CCNA, Certified Software Tester) are a plus (ref:hirist.tech)
