As a Qualified Accountant, you will maintain financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the practice team. Day-to-day of the role: Conduct client meetings both virtually and face-to-face. Provide complex tax advice and prepare annual accounts. Review and sign off on work completed by the accounting team. Handle self-assessment tax returns, HMRC audits, and investigations. Address client complaints and manage complex issues efficiently. Monitor and analyse data related to KPIs and attend management meetings as required. Act as an ambassador for the firm, promoting high standards of behaviour and supporting company objectives. Commit to professional development to enhance skills and knowledge. Use expertise to mentor and develop other staff members, contributing to the future success of the firm. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified ACA, ACCA, or equivalent. Proficient in cloud accounting software such as FreeAgent, QuickBooks, and Xero. Demonstrated experience in managing a client portfolio and team. Strong accounting and taxation knowledge, including income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on providing professional and accurate service to clients. Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and report to senior management. Exceptional time management skills, ensuring all tasks are completed daily and deadlines are met. Desirable Qualifications and Skills: Knowledge of capital gains and inheritance tax. Experience with HMRC audits and investigations. Experience in performance management.
