Senior Finance Officer

Temporary Senior Finance Officer Location: North Manchester Sector: Education Hours: 36 hours per week Pay Rate: £17-£20 per hour Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finance Officer for a temporary position within an educational setting in North Manchester. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust financial management and compliance with the educational setting Financial Regulations. Key Responsibilities: Cashflow Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts to ensure the College’s financial stability. Treasury Management: Oversee treasury functions, including effective cashflow management and maximizing investment opportunities. Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records. Fixed Asset Register Maintenance: Maintain the College’s fixed asset register, providing guidance on safeguarding assets. VAT Returns: Lead on VAT returns, ensuring compliance and maximizing VAT recovery. Project Financial Management: Manage financial aspects of all projects, both revenue and capital, ensuring grant conditions are met and claims are submitted timely. Qualifications and Experience: AAT qualified. Relevant experience gained in the UK, ideally in an education or public sector setting. Proven experience in a similar finance role. Strong knowledge of treasury management and cashflow forecasting. Experience with VAT returns and fixed asset management. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Full right to work in the UK. Availability: Must be available immediately as the role will start as soon as possible.
