Position: Sous Chef What will I get? Salary: Up to £50,000 gross per annum (£20 per hour), based on a 48-hour work week. This includes the service charge and is dependent on experience. Contributory pension scheme Learning and development opportunities. What will I be doing? We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining high culinary standards, ensuring efficient kitchen operations, and supporting the Executive Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a dynamic and creative kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities: Culinary Leadership: Assist the Executive Chef in planning and creating innovative menus. Supervise and ensure the consistent quality of food preparation and presentation. Maintain high standards of taste, consistency, and presentation in all dishes. Team Management: Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to enhance productivity and teamwork. Assign responsibilities and monitor staff performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards. Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen environment. Operational Excellence: Oversee kitchen operations during the absence of the Executive Chef. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP or equivalent). Manage inventory levels, food costs, and minimize wastage. Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of quality ingredients. Innovation and Development: Contribute to the development of seasonal menus, specials, and signature dishes. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu offerings. Problem-Solving and Quality Control: Address and resolve any kitchen-related issues promptly and effectively. Conduct regular checks to maintain equipment functionality and kitchen cleanliness. What are we looking for? Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training. Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and kitchen equipment. Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire a diverse team. Excellent time management and organizational abilities. A commitment to maintaining a high level of hygiene and safety standards. Ability to speak and write French is desirable but not essential.
