Responsibilities: Architectural Leadership: Define and communicate the overall technical vision and strategy for our edge device software. Collaborate with stakeholders to align architectural decisions with business goals. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our solutions remain competitive. Solution Design: Lead the design of complex, distributed systems that operate efficiently at scale. Balance performance, reliability, security, and maintainability in your architectural choices. Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical designs. Technical Guidance: Mentor and guide software engineers, providing architectural guidance and best practices. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to architectural principles. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including hardware engineers, QA, and DevOps) to deliver integrated solutions. Coordinate efforts across geographically distributed offices (USA and India). Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing between teams. Leadership of Architect Group: Lead a small team of architects, providing direction, mentorship, and support. Encourage collaboration, knowledge exchange, and alignment on architectural decisions. Champion best practices and ensure consistency across architectural designs. Cloud Services and Edge Computing: Leverage Azure cloud services for scalability, reliability, and data processing. Optimize edge device communication and synchronization. Ensure efficient utilization of resources while meeting performance requirements. Security and Compliance: Define and enforce security best practices across the software stack. Address compliance requirements related to data privacy and industry standards. Stay informed about security threats and vulnerabilities. Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance. Monitor and analyze system metrics to proactively address issues. Implement caching, load balancing, and other performance-enhancing techniques. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience (at least 10 years) in software architecture, preferably in cloud-based and edge computing environments. Strong proficiency in Azure services, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs. Familiarity with IoT protocols and edge device communication. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and time zones. Nice-to-Have: Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing. Knowledge of real-time data processing and event-driven architectures. Certifications related to Azure architecture or cloud computing. Perks: Competitive salary and benefits package.
