Certification Details Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Job Details Minimum 3 years of Telemetry and Med Surg experience required May float to other Med Surg and Tele units Accepts 1st time travelers Must be able to read strips Must be able to work in Telemetry setting and will receive general medical surgical patients and moderate volume orthopedic surgical cases Total joint ortho experience would be required Job Requirements Experience level is med-surg and telemetry with a 1:5 nurse to patient med-surg ratio Years of experience are a minimum of 3 years in nursing References have level 4-5 ratings Competencies must be consistent with medical-surgical and telemetry patient care needs and should be rated 3 or greater Schedule Information Every other weekend coverage required No Call requirement Scrubs: Royal Blue Unit Specific Information Avg Census: 36 Rooms/Beds 36 Ratios - 1:5 Patient Population: Adolescents - Geriatrics Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Skills: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Telemetry - remote monitoring Required Cardiovascular skills: Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery Required IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting IVs Required Medication skills: Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration Required Respiratory/Thoracic Skills: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen face masks, Tracheostomy Management Additional Details RTO must be on the submittal No RTO the first two weeks of an assignment 1 Holiday RTO must only be submitted but it is not guaranteed to be approved Once RTO is submitted, this cannot be changed unless it's to cancel time requested - ensure that you have confirmed all dates needed off for the full 13 week contract NO MORE THAN 3 DAYS RTO MAX
