Job Description
Procurement Manager North London Up to £70,0000 Benefits Monday to Friday - standard office hours Excellent company benefits Our client who is a global defence company based in North London is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a highly respected company in the defense industry. This role will be on a permanent basis. Travel within the UK and overseas is required and is considered a regular feature of this role. Requests could be made at short notice. Duties: Determine robust sourcing strategies for existing and new products or services in accordance with Life Cycle Management principles. Develop effective commercial partnerships with key strategic suppliers to influence successful achievement and execution of current and future programs. Ensure all UK imports and exports fully comply with all relevant legislation and HUK procedures and continue to reflect any future legislative changes. Drive continuous performance improvement in all areas of supply chain performance, including logistics. Lead and manage the team establishing departmental and personal objectives for team members. Manage the procurement processes for competitive tendering, including supplier selection, pre-qualification, tender evaluation and contract award in accordance with the applicable procurement plan, procedures and governance Ensure that the procurement function is suitably represented and involved in the development and introduction of new products. Procurement of an assigned group of commodities Requirements Experience within a purchasing / commercial role at the Executive Management level. Evidence of implementing large and suitably complex product/service contracts with appropriate contractual agreements. Demonstrate experience and understanding of MRP, kanban, contract law, risk management, negotiation and working within a change culture organisation. Demonstrate experience of leading, developing and working within teams. Excellent communication skills with proven experience of presenting at the Director level. Has a “can do” attitude to solving problems and innovative change management.
