Job Description

Data Centre Engineer / Hardware / Cabling / Shift / Server Location: Swindon Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 benefits Permanent Currently recruiting for a leading blue-chip client with a global presence who are looking to hire a data centre engineer to join their expanding team. Shift pattern including days & nights (4 on 4 off – 12 Hour Shifts) SC Clearance or ability to pass and hold SC Clearance required. Please apply for more information on the client and full JD. Responsibilities / Essential Skills To receive, respond, resolve and complete service requests and Break / Fix tickets within the agreed SLA timeframe or escalate promptly if they cannot be resolved within an acceptable timely manner. To receive, assess and complete patching / de-patching requests as well as other cable tasks such as installation and running (both copper and fibre) within the agreed SLA timeframe and to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards. To receive, assess and complete IT equipment installation, relocation and decommission requests within the agreed SLA timeframes and to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards. Ensure all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards. Provide remote hands problem solving support (server reboots, backups, visual inspections etc). Cabling experience and knowledge (copper & fibre) Solid understanding of the Mechanical/Electrical configuration of a Data Centre. Flexibility to support work activities at other Data Centre locations on occasion. CNET CDCTP certification Awareness of relevant ISO accreditation requirements
