Job Title: Automotive Technician Trainer – REME Projects Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Location: Lyneham Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed-Term Contract Security Clearance: UK Citizenship required, with eligibility to undergo security checks The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician Trainer to join an exciting project supporting the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) . In this role, you will provide specialist training and development to technicians, enhancing their skills in automotive systems and mechanical repairs. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise while playing a key role in the professional development of others in a military environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality training to REME personnel in automotive systems, mechanical maintenance, and repairs. Develop and update training materials to ensure the course content is relevant and meets operational needs. Provide practical demonstrations, theory-based instruction, and hands-on training to enhance technician competence. Assess trainee progress, provide feedback, and offer support to help individuals achieve certification and professional development. Collaborate with senior management and other trainers to continuously improve training methods and ensure consistency in delivery. Maintain a safe and effective training environment, following all relevant health and safety guidelines. What We’re Looking For To be successful in this role, you will need: An NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent). Significant experience as an Automotive Technician or in a related mechanical field. Proven ability to deliver technical training to diverse groups, particularly in a military or technical setting. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to adapt training methods to meet the needs of individual learners. Experience in assessing and mentoring others in a technical environment.
