SMT Inspector

SMT Inspector - Letchworth Garden City - Permanent We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented SMT Inspector to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the inspection of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assemblies and will be responsible for ensuring all products meet the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform visual and automated inspection of SMT components during and after the manufacturing process. Use specialized equipment and tools to assess the quality of SMT assemblies. Ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards. Work closely with the production team to identify and resolve defects and issues promptly. Assist in the development and improvement of quality control processes. Report findings and track defects using industry-standard software and systems. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times. Provide feedback to the production team on potential improvements and corrective actions. Stay updated on industry trends, SMT technologies, and quality inspection techniques. Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience as an SMT Inspector or in a similar quality control role within electronics manufacturing. Strong knowledge of SMT processes, including component placement, soldering, and inspection. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Proficient in using inspection tools such as magnifying lenses, microscopes, and automated optical inspection (AOI) systems. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 or other relevant standards is a plus. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
