Head of Commercial(job title open to flex) Location: Glasgow – North East Salary: Generous and Dependent on Experience An exciting opportunity has arisen within a thriving online retail business poised for significant growth and innovation. Part of a wider portfolio of well-known Glasgow brands, the company has ambitious expansion plans for 2025. Following a revenue increase to nearly £6 million in 2024—a growth of £1.5M from the previous year—they are seeking a strategic leader to drive their ecommerce and commercial vision forward. The Role: As Head of Commercial, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the business’s growth strategy. Reporting directly to the owner, you will lead the ecommerce, marketplace, warehouse, and distribution teams, ensuring seamless operations and driving results. With 70% of revenue generated through Amazon, and the rest via other Marketplaces and D2C, this role requires expertise in these areas and in scaling ecommerce operations and managing end-to-end processes. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Define and implement strategies to scale revenue and accelerate growth. Team Leadership: Oversee, work alongside and inspire cross-functional teams across ecommerce, marketplaces, and operations. Marketplace Optimization: Drive performance across Amazon and other platforms as key revenue streams. Digital Growth: Drive the D2C website and paid media channels to boost traffic and sales. Operational Efficiency: Streamline supply chain and distribution for optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities in existing and new markets. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership to align strategies with business goals. Data-Driven Optimization: Utilize analytics to monitor KPIs and refine performance strategies. Key Requirements: Proven Leader: Extensive experience scaling ecommerce businesses and delivering significant revenue growth. Ecommerce Expertise: Strong knowledge of marketplace management, particularly Amazon. Strategic Vision: A forward-thinking leader capable of aligning teams and driving digital success. Operational Insight: Proficiency in supply chain, distribution, and customer satisfaction processes. Data-Driven Decision-Maker: Expertise in using analytics to shape and optimize performance.
