Technical Manager

Technical Manager – Industrial Automation Office / site based – North Manchester ( hybrid or work from home is not available for this role ) £75k-£90k base wider package We have partnered with a large engineering firm to recruit a Technical Manager to build up and lead a Control System Engineering division alongside their instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical services divisions. Electrical Design and Software (PLC, HMI, and SCADA) experience Project Management experience (including CDM and model form contract knowledge) Experience building a team of Controls Engineers (Software, Electrical, commissioning) Experience in managing accounts / work winning (quoting, tendering, margin control etc) Typical controls projects have ranged from £200k to £2m. For the avoidance of doubt this is a hands on technical delivery role whilst building up a team that will take on the delivery. Your role will regularly change from Lead Engineer to something that looks like Principal Engineer and then evolve to Senior Leadership role. The ideal candidate will come from a control system integrator background – you may have moved into machine build or process engineering but be working on the above for your organization in a similar role. The company are on a number of Government frameworks that will allow the successful candidate to rapidly scale of this division. The Senior Leadership team have suggested that the role will evolve as the division grows.
