Job Description
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation of the children’s residential home, working closely with the Registered Manager. You will lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality care, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management: Support the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations of the home. Provide guidance, supervision, and support to staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and accountability. Assist with recruitment, training, and performance management of team members. Care Delivery: Ensure the highest standards of care for children and young people, promoting their safety, well-being, and development. Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with children, families, and professionals. Act as a role model, demonstrating empathy and consistency in interactions with children. Compliance & Safeguarding: Maintain adherence to Ofsted regulations and standards. Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed. Conduct regular audits and contribute to inspections. Administrative Duties: Oversee record-keeping and reporting to meet statutory and organizational requirements. Assist in budget management and resource allocation. Requirements Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting. Proven leadership or supervisory experience. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviours with confidence and empathy. Sound knowledge of child protection and safeguarding.
