Introduce some methods of lean manufacturing - what is lean manufacturing? Is is possible in our bespoke environment. Tie everything together, check in with each level, project manager, production manager, accounts & ordering to ensure process from order receipt to delivery is performed seamlessly with control & high quality. Check in on tenders, receipt, timings, bid level etc. Engage with customers, what else could ace make, core products that go through factory faster. Discuss the mix of products coming through the factory with PM and estimator to ensure OH recovery and stream of profitable product. BDM when appointed. Continuous improvement - what else could be done better, faster, cheaper? Raw material Goods in check sheet - designated to production manager to complete but owned by GM Manufactured products goods in photographing and checking - designated to production manager to complete but owned by GM Checking timesheets against manufacturing hours - track and monitor against tendered position. Feed issues to Production / PM. Calmly find solutions to problems which occur regularly. Receive purchase orders, file them, negotiate terms when required. Update M&D on receipt Host production meetings to understand if the weekly / monthly plan is on track. Report issues to all required early and judge how to remedy whilst monitoring cost implications. Review tender drawings with PM, find additional items not requested & upsell further products. Discuss draughtsman’s workload with PM. Assess tenders and variations with PM and external clients to update estimators workload order. Booking transportation / PM or ops. Review project performance acutely and report to MD. Liaise with accounts and PM on valuations & invoicing.
