DevOps Engineer - Python/Groovy/Grails

Job Description : About the Role : We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Python, Groovy, and AWS Cloud to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and management of our CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud-based solutions. This role requires hands-on experience with AWS services, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and Terraform, with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code. As a key contributor to the team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable systems that support our business goals. Key Responsibilities : - Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, and GitHub to automate the build, test, and deployment process. - Ensure seamless integration of code changes and fast delivery to production. - Leverage AWS Cloud services to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure. - Work with services such as EC2, EBS, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, S3, EKS, etc., ensuring the cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and optimized for performance. - Use Terraform or CloudFormation to manage and automate the provisioning of cloud infrastructure. - Ensure infrastructure is reproducible, consistent, and well-documented. - Build, manage, and deploy Docker containers and images. - Work with Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) to manage and scale containerized applications. - Write Python and Groovy scripts for automating various tasks such as infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment automation. - Ensure scripts are efficient, modular, and easy to maintain. - Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure system health and performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, and AWS CloudWatch. - Set up alerts for application and infrastructure issues, enabling quick resolution of potential problems. - Administer both Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems, ensuring system performance, security, and availability. - Troubleshoot and resolve OS-level and application-level issues. - Lead the troubleshooting and root cause analysis for any infrastructure, system, or application issues. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement long-term solutions. - Work closely with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle. - Provide guidance and expertise on optimizing cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD workflows. - Maintain clear documentation of infrastructure, configurations, pipelines, and processes. - Ensure that knowledge sharing is encouraged and accessible for other team members. Required Skills and Qualifications : - 4-6 years of hands-on experience working in DevOps roles, with strong proficiency in AWS, Python, Groovy, Jenkins, and CI/CD tools. - Strong hands-on experience working with AWS Cloud services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, VPC, EKS, and others. - Proficiency in Terraform or CloudFormation for automating and managing cloud infrastructure. - Extensive experience with Jenkins, GitHub, and Bitbucket for implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines. - Experience working with Docker for containerization and EKS for managing containerized applications using Kubernetes. - Strong programming skills in Python and Groovy for automating tasks, managing configurations, and enhancing DevOps workflows. - Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, CloudWatch, and strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues in both cloud and on-premise environments. - Hands-on experience administering Unix/Linux and Windows environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. - Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments, including managing user access, securing cloud resources, and ensuring compliance with security policies. - Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with developers, system admins, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of solutions (ref:hirist.tech)
