Lead Automation Engineer - Selenium/Appium

Key Responsibilities : - Leadership in Automation Testing : Lead the automation testing efforts, ensuring the development and execution of effective automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing. - Strategy Development : Define and implement automation strategies to ensure efficient test execution and improve test coverage, working in alignment with the overall testing process and goals. - Tool Selection & Implementation : Evaluate and implement the right set of automation tools and frameworks based on project requirements, and continuously improve existing automation processes. - Mentorship & Team Guidance : Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the automation testing team, assisting in skill development, reviewing code, and providing feedback. - Collaboration : Work closely with development, QA, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure seamless integration of automation into the development lifecycle. - Innovative Solutions : Bring forward innovative ideas to improve the automation process, enhancing efficiency, reliability, and maintainability of test automation scripts. - Automation Framework Development : Design and maintain scalable and reusable automation frameworks to support testing across various platforms and environments. - Continuous Improvement : Continuously monitor and analyze the effectiveness of automation tests, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance overall testing productivity. - Reporting & Metrics : Generate regular reports on test automation progress, test results, and quality metrics to provide insights to stakeholders and senior management. Required Skills & Qualifications : - Experience : 7 years of experience in automation testing, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or senior role. - Automation Tools : Proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Jenkins, and others. - Hands-on experience in developing automation frameworks is a must. - Programming Languages : Strong programming skills in languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar. - Test Frameworks : In-depth experience with test automation frameworks and practices (i.e., Data-driven, Keyword-driven, Behavior-driven testing). - Leadership Skills : Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and guide a team of automation testers. - Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) : Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI. - Strong Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze complex systems, design effective test strategies, and troubleshoot automation challenges. - Communication : Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present testing outcomes and improvements to stakeholders. - Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to innovate and create solutions for complex automation challenges. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience in Agile environments and Scrum methodologies. - Familiarity with performance testing and tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner. - Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments and platforms. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (ref:hirist.tech)
