Role : GCP Platform Engineer Job Description : Key Responsibilities : - Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud-based infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Develop and maintain cloud architectures, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and cost-efficient. - Implement automation and CI/CD pipelines for GCP-based infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Deployment Manager. - Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate GCP services with existing platforms. - Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure-related issues across GCP environments. - Monitor system performance, optimize resources, and proactively address potential bottlenecks or inefficiencies. - Ensure adherence to security best practices, such as identity management, access controls, and data encryption. - Stay up-to-date with GCP product offerings and industry best practices to implement continuous improvements. Required Skills & Qualifications : - Strong experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, etc. - Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and DevOps methodologies. - Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration in cloud environments. - Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). - Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or Go. - Hands-on experience with GCP monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging). - Knowledge of cloud cost management and optimization practices. - Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. - Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) : - Google Cloud certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect. - Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). - Experience with data engineering and machine learning on GCP. - Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) and serverless frameworks (e.g., Cloud Run). - Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
