Recro.io - Software Engineering Manager - Backend Development

Responsibilities : - Lead, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack and backend software engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. - Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and ensure timely delivery of features. - Drive best practices in software development, including code quality, architecture design, testing, and deployment. - Develop and execute plans to scale applications for performance and reliability while addressing business needs. - Ensure alignment of team goals with organizational objectives and promote a culture of continuous improvement. - Identify and mitigate risks in the development process and provide solutions to technical challenges. - Act as a technical leader, staying current with emerging trends and ensuring the adoption of relevant tools and : Skills : React, TypeScript, and JavaScript. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - 7 years of experience in software development and 2 years of experience managing or leading engineering teams. - Strong technical background in backend development, preferably with Java, Spring Boot, or similar technologies. - Familiarity with, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (e. g., AWS, Azure). - Proven ability to coach and mentor engineers at different levels of experience. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to align technical execution with business priorities. - Experience managing projects with Agile methodologies, delivering results in a fast-paced environment. - Passion for building technology that makes an impact in the education sector. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience working with distributed systems or SaaS platforms. - Hands-on experience in database design and optimization (e. g., SQL, NoSQL). - Familiarity with education technology and the unique challenges of developing products for teachers and students.
