Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support (Pontyclun Area) Position: Teaching Assistant (1:1) Location: Pontyclun, RCT Start Date: 3rd February 2025 We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our school in the Pontyclun area. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a pupil with Down Syndrome who is non-verbal. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with the pupil to support their educational and personal development. Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning plans. Employ creative and flexible approaches to communication and engagement. Promote inclusion and ensure the pupil feels safe, valued, and supported. Foster a nurturing and encouraging environment for the pupil to thrive. Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will ideally have: Experience working in a special school, Specialist Resource Base (SRB), or in a 1:1 role. Specific experience supporting children with Down Syndrome. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Essential Requirements: An enhanced DBS check (registered on the update service or willing to obtain one). Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
