Serious Injury Solicitor

A Manchester based Law Firm specialising in Personal Injury, Commercial and Family Law are expanding their Serious Injury team and is looking for an experienced solicitor/fee earner with experience in Serious Injury and Clinical Negligence. This role would be suitable for a qualified solicitor with 5-10 years PQE, who has significant recent multi-track experience. The Solicitor will be responsible for the successful management of a caseload of serious injury/clinical negligence matters from inception to conclusion. The position can be remote (home), office-based or a combination of the two. Office attendance is required a minimum of one day per month, therefore the willingness and ability to travel to Manchester on a monthly basis is a mandatory requirement. Duties will include, but are not limited to - To support the Team Leader in the day to day running of the department, and to provide assistance to colleagues within the team as required, same to be suitably reciprocated Assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports and researching and obtaining relevant case law. Managing a caseload as required to achieve both the above whilst providing excellent client care Instructions and meetings with a multi-disciplinary team of experts for example, medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, counsel. Analysis of evidence and research of legal issues on liability, causation and quantum. Drafting documents including statements, pleadings and schedules of loss. Securing early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation. Strong commercial awareness and business acumen Ensuring that write-offs and issues with suppliers are kept to an absolute minimum.
