Graduate Trainee Teaching Assistant Train to be a Teaching Assistant on our Early Career Teaching Assistant Programme We are looking for passionate graduates who want to begin working and training as an SEND Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting our schools in Hassocks by helping children and young people with a variety of needs; Complex Needs (Hearing impairments, Autism, Speech and language delay) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs). This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who want to move into a career in teaching. You will benefit from in-depth support and training from the school, and develop your knowledge of the national curriculum. We welcome graduates from all subjects to apply, however, Psychology graduates in particular are strongly encouraged to apply It’s a fantastic opportunity for psychology graduates to utilise their knowledge and we can match you to your ideal role based on your favourite modules - whether that be related to social work, mental health, counselling or therapy. About the role: Gain a Special Educational Needs, Teaching Assistant Qualification Have access to over 200 Modules (Phonics, SEND, Classroom practice etc, Supporting additional needs, Understanding Autism, Understanding attachment, Complex Needs) Develop your understanding of Education and how to support children Tailor your programme around your interests - Complex Needs, SEMH, Mainstream, Speech and Language, Autism etc. Develop key skills in these areas Develop academic knowledge whilst gaining valuable experience within our schools Develop First-Hand experience in the classroom Be paid between £85 - £105 per day Do you have friends or colleagues looking for work? Invite friends to join us & earn a £50 Amazon voucher when they work 5 days You can refer friends from the UK or from overseas and you can refer as many people as you like The sky's the limit… About you: Be passionate about supporting the development of children and young adults Have a University degree in any subject from within the last 5 years Be personable, kind and empathetic Be versatile, willing to learn and develop your skills Be confident, and have a strong sense of behaviour management Have some experience with children, or be passionate about doing so Driver - preferable but not essential Either have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed The Training Programme: Our Early Career Teaching Assistant Programme consists of on the job training in a school alongside a bespoke CPD programme, developed by ex-senior leaders and our CPD Partners, Creative Education. You’ll learn: How to be a great Teaching Assistant within a special school Supporting Autism, Strategies to de-escalate behaviour, inclusion, all necessary SEND skills etc How to maximise your impact on learning Special Needs Awareness Enhanced Safeguarding As part of your enrollment on the Early Years Teaching Assistant Programme, you’ll have free access to over 300 courses to help you develop your skills in specialised areas.
