Job Opportunity: Construction Buyer Location: Wickford, Essex Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading construction company that is expanding rapidly due to continued business growth. They are seeking an experienced Construction Buyer to join their dynamic team in Wickford, Essex. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in procurement within the construction industry to help source materials for a wide range of projects nationwide. The projects span across the commercial, education, retail, and residential sectors, with project values ranging from £500,000 to £5 million. Key Responsibilities: Source and procure materials for various projects within the commercial, education, retail, and residential sectors. Develop and maintain relationships with both existing and new suppliers. Negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and rebates to ensure cost-efficiency. Manage the supply chain, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to project sites. Work closely with project teams to ensure deliveries are aligned with project timelines. Conduct site visits as necessary to monitor progress and assess material needs. Key Requirements: At least 3 years’ experience in a construction procurement or purchasing role with a solid understanding of materials. Experience within any construction sector is welcome, though experience with main contracting or fit-out would be advantageous. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively. Must be based within a commutable distance of Wickford, Essex. Proven stability in previous roles and a genuine desire for long-term career growth. Why Apply?
