Job Description

Position: ASD Teaching Assistant Start Date: January 2025 Type: Long-term, with the potential to become permanent Remedy Education is seeking experienced ASD Teaching Assistants for long-term positions starting in January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support schools in providing care and assistance to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Special Educational Needs (SEN). Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support for children with ASD and SEN. Assist teachers with day-to-day teaching and learning activities. Support personal care tasks where required. Collaborate with other staff to maintain a safe and productive environment. Adhere to school policies, including safeguarding, child protection, behaviour management, and health and safety.Requirements: Experience supporting children with ASD and associated challenging behaviours. A minimum of 3 months' experience as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant. Commitment to working with children with SEN. Ability to manage challenging behaviours and adapt to students' needs. Proactive, patient, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude. Strong teamwork skills and a passion for working with children with Special Needs. Experience working one-to-one with students is highly desirable.Application Requirements: Enhanced Child & Adult DBS Disclosure and two years of professional reference checks. A complete CV detailing education and employment history, including explanations for any gaps in employment.
