Job Description

Job Title: CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator Shift: Day Shift Hours are Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 2.30pm or Late Shift Hours are Monday – Wednesday 4.30pm – 3.30am, Thursday 4.30pm – 1.30am Rate: £32k-£38k per annum – (late shift premium is time plus one third). Requirements Proven time served experience in programming, setting and operating 2 axis turning machines. Ability to write new CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision. Experience programming using ‘Manual Guide i’ software. Experience programming using G codes. Also, editing prewritten programs, the full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, feeds. Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment. Producing one off, as well as low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals. Excellent working knowledge of 2 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances. Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards. Experience of Fanuc controls would be advantageous. Have a strong working history within the manufacturing industry within a machine shop environment. Have a hands-on, quality driven, positive, self-motivated manner in order to be able to hit the ground running. Confident in working on parts up to ¢300mm x 3m in length, using lifting equipment provided as some of our work can be large. Hoist training will also be provided. What Next?
