TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Hermitage, Tennessee, 37076 Pay Information $1,843 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - EKG rhythm interpretation - Experience with cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip - Peripheral IV skills - Experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems - Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care experience - Tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes handling Job Description: - Work within Unit Specifics: 34 beds / 25 beds with patient ratios from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on shift - Unit staffing includes secretaries and techs, with 3 techs when full in larger units, 2 in smaller - Operate with equipment such as bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac and insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis - Engage in procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff/NG tube insertions, and central line dressing changes - Perform wound vac troubleshooting in conjunction with wound care - Documentation via Meditech - Scheduling requirements include every other weekend, 3 shifts of 12 hours per week - Potential floating between PCU units or to med-surg floors - Patient Experience requirements such as hourly rounding during days and every 2 hours during nights, adhering to AIDET, and communication board maintenance on designated floors - Dress Code: Black Scrubs - Participate in a team-oriented culture with self-scheduling and strong support from techs for patient care - Opportunities for contract extensions; many travelers renew after the first assignment - Engage in a care-like-family culture promoting exceptional teamwork and support.
