Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Highways Projects Location: East Sussex Employment Type: Full-time - Flexible Hours About the Role We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a £20 m highways contractor to work on highways and maintenance projects in and around East Sussex. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, thrives on solving challenges, and has a strong background in working for small contractors. Key Responsibilities Oversee the financial and contractual aspects of highways and maintenance projects. Prepare, analyze, and negotiate tenders, contracts, and procurement strategies. Monitor and control project costs, ensuring value for money and adherence to budgets. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure project compliance with specifications. Manage stakeholder relationships, including contractors, suppliers, and clients. Provide detailed reporting on project financial performance, forecasts, and risks. Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor Strong understanding of NEC contracts Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in relevant software. Relevant qualifications (e.g. Degree.)
